With a Little Help from Max for Live: Inspired by Nature – Vector FM & Bouncy Notes

In this second episode of the mini series within With a Little Help from Max for Live we’re going to take a look at two more Max for Live devices from the free Inspired by Nature Live Pack by Dillon Bastan for Live 11. If you haven’t watched part 1  (Vector Grain & Vector Delay) yet, I’d recommend doing this first.

The first one is Vector FM, an FM synthesiser and thus Max for Live MIDI instrument, which also features a particle system like Vector Grain and Vector Delay in part one of the mini series, with each particle representing an Operator oscillator or pair. Bouncy Notes, a MIDI effect, is a gravity-based MIDI sequencer. With each MIDI note played (by you or automatically), a ball is dropped and bounces on the device’s piano roll. Let’s have a look at both devices, their parameters and what we can do with them musically.

Part 3 looks at the two remaining devices, Emit & Tree Tone,  from the Inspired by Nature Live Pack, and part 4 checks out PitchLoop89 by Robert Henke.
