This free granular delay is very versatile. It’s great for simple or very complex delay effects as well as creating textures. This is because you can have up to 15 voices, each voice with
individual filtering, re-pitching, envelope and panning. As if that wasn’t enough, there are even more mod options.
LFO, Envelope, Random, and Velocity. The latter an envelope follower to the incoming signal can be applied to them and other parameters. The voices can be positioned equally across the phase of the delay window via a spread option. Additionally, “step” modulation can be added to a parameter and will spread the value out evenly for each voice based on their ratio and the depth and direction of the step. There’s also reversed delay, spray, window fade controls, other stuff.
If all these parameters seem a bit daunting, just start turning knobs, you’ll certainly end up with interesting results.
This way for heaps more Max for Live devices & tips.
