All New Shortcuts in Ableton Live 12 (Part 1)

Reading the title, you might be wondering why it takes two parts to cover the new shortcuts added in Ableton Live 12. The truth is that there are a lot of new ones.

Some of them are really just for accessibility reasons, but they could be useful to anyone. Also, I think it’s high time that blind people could use this DAW to make music, so I’ve deliberately mentioned the shortcuts just for them. And who knows, you might find one or two of them very useful for your own workflow.

In this first part, we’ll look at all the shortcuts except those for clips. I will cover those in the second part next week. I’ve divided the shortcuts into different sections to make it easier to follow and remember all the new commands.

I’ve also created a free PDF that you can download below the video. At the moment, the Live 12 manual isn’t completely finished, including the new shortcuts that have been added. Also, there’s currently no PDF version that would make it searchable. So I’m hoping that this PDF will help you memorise the shortcuts and get them into your muscle memory in no time.
