If you had hoped for a giveaway of the packs and courses in the Sonic Bloom shop, you’re in luck. Head over to CDM to get a chance to win. Since Max for Cats (aka Christian Kleine, sometimes in collaboration with Nico Starke) evolved from Sonic Bloom, he’s also thrown in 5 licences each for OSCiLLOT, Pallas and Bengal. Definitely worth taking part.

Good luck!
I can’t believe it’s been half a decade already, and at the same time it feels like a long time ago. I’ve learned so incredibly much.

The Sonic Bloom blog by now hosts close to 600 articles, almost all available in English and German. I’ve taught people from four continents (Australia/Oceania turns out tricky with the time difference), mixed and mastered all kinds of genres. When I got started, I wasn’t sure how long it would be until ideas for tutorials would dry up. As it turns out, I’m often getting inspiration sent directly to my inbox or by interesting questions from students in one-to-one lessons or workshops.

To be honest, I’m not half as far with making my ideas come true for Sonic Bloom as I’d like, but as I’d mentioned before, I’ve been quite ill for about half the time (if you’re curious, I’ve written about it on my music website). I’ve kept Sonic Bloom going throughout, but pretty much had to shelve my own music making. Nice emails and comments from you made it easier. And without Christoph, student of mine and paedeatrician, and my troubleshooting skills I may have never figured out my health issues, so thank you. I love how there are feedback loops happening between what I do with Sonic Bloom, my own music and even personal life. I still have a lot of plans and ideas, and now that I’m better, I’ll slowly make them happen.

Here’s to another five years and beyond. Cheers!
