Free “Mellotron MK2 Violins” Live Pack (No. 37)

This is Live Pack 8 in the 10-part Mellotron series. “Mellotron MK2 Violins” is based on all individually sampled violin notes of a Mellotron MK2. The Live Pack contains a Simpler preset as well as three fully macro-mapped Instrument Racks, one with controls to add reverb, one beat-repeating in the stereo field and another one for filter-y goodness. For Ableton Live 9 Standard or Suite. Sampled by Taijiguy.

If clicking it to download results in a text-file, simply right-click and choose ‘Save Link as…’. To install, just double-click the alp-file and choose the installation path when prompted by Live. And here’s a tutorial on how to use the presets from Live Packs that are not self-installing.

    1. Un pocito, but not good enough in writing. The download might have been interrupted and thus corrupted. I checked it and the file is fine in itself. Please empty your browser cache, delete the corrupted file and then try downloading again. Trying another browser might work, too.

  2. Ok, I might be missing something here. I click on download, and it takes me to courses. No downloads start.

  3. hi, will the Free “Mellotron MK2 Violins” Live Pack (No. 37) work in Live 9 Lite?
    thanks

  4. Hello, I was looking for a decent and free plugin (whether AU or VST) for Mac, but I use Garageband and I don’t think I can use these… any advice or other programs that may offer me the sweet mellotron for free in Garageband? I’ve researched, but have found nothing but this and expressive tron (kontakt)

    Thanks in advance!!

    1. I’ve been asked about this before. What I can offer is to release the raw samples on their own. You’d still have to load them into the sampler of your used DAW. However, since it’s a lot of sorting that needs to be done, I’ll have to see when I get around to it. Expect it to take a couple of weeks.
