From September 12 to 14 the Perspectives Festival will take place in Berlin at //:about blank, celebrating female perspectives on electronic music and digital arts. There will be live performances and DJ sets, talks and also various audio and video workshops lead by female instructors.

An introduction of Modul8 software, a very flexible tool, used in domains as diverse as VJing, contemporary art, live performances, theater and video production. You’ll learn how to produce your own video clips and mix them in real time.
Requirements:
Mac computer and a video editor software. Video cameras, Midi controllers are welcome. We’ll supply a full Modul8 license, that will work for one month.

Isadora + Ableton Live workshop

Introduction to video/audio interaction for performance and live visuals, using Ableton Live and Isadora. We’ll learn how these softwares work and how they can be linked together, as well as how to set up live video and sound production together with external MIDI devices, creating easy patches and use them in real time production.
Requirements:
Mac or PC computer and a software. Video cameras, Midi controllers, synthesizers are welcome. Please install a version of Isadora and Live 9.

its really interesting wish we could have such thing in Africa
We (about 30 women) are organising the whole festival in our spare time. We got some government funding, but maybe that’d be possible for you as well?! It’s a lot of work, but it’s gonna be fantastic. 🙂
Can I turn up with 8?
It would work for most things, but certain functions have changed. Maybe have a quick look at the new features of Live 9 beforehand. And you need to register for any workshop you want to attend, info is in the post.
