This Live Pack is the first of a 10-piece series of Mellotron sounds. Each note was individually sampled to recreate the unique sound of the Mellotron. “Mellotron Cello” contains a Simpler preset as well as three fully macro-mapped Instrument Racks, one with controls to add reverb, one for grainy and one for glitchy fun. For Ableton Live 9 Standard or Suite. Sampled by Taijiguy.
Listen to the demo:
If clicking it to download results in a text-file, simply right-click and choose ‘Save Link as…’. To install, just double-click the alp-file and choose the installation path when prompted by Live. And here’s a tutorial on how to use the presets from Live Packs that are not self-installing.
If you have the means and would like to say thank you, I’d appreciate a small donation.
If you have question or something to add, feel free to do so in the comments . 🙂

Thanks for sharing Madeleine….
What is the suggested destination—or installation path—for saving these for easy access in Ableton? You say “choose the installation path when prompted by Live” but Live won’t let me save it anywhere in the User Library. I keep getting this denial message: “The Pack ‘SonicBloomMellotronCello Project’ contains a Project and cannot be installed inside another Project.”
Newish user here — any help appreciated!
It’s best to create a dedicated folder for it in your Documents or even in the parent folder “Ableton” of where your User Library resides. The User Library is a Live Project and installing into it would break it. You can then use “Add Folder” in the Browser to add the folder for easy access.
I’m hoping to be able to provide self-installing Live Packs at some point, but currently only Ableton have the tool for it.
