Even if you already have great drum sounds that you generally use for making beats, it’s never wrong to switch it up a little, at least sometimes. Who knows? It might give you new and unexpected ideas. Actually, it most likely will. The following two Live Packs are as different from each other as they come and offer lots of diverse sounds to get creative. And they’re both free.
DM ARP 2600 Drums
The first one is a team effort by Mute label founder Daniel Miller and Flatpack. All its samples come from Miller’s own ARP 2600 modular synthesizer. The free Live Pack includes 8 Ableton Drum Racks and 150 original analog percussion sounds.

DTF017 – Untouchable
The second free Live Pack was made by Detunized using nothing but an MiniDisc recorder. They tortured the built-in mic by hitting, rubbing, scraping and tapping it. The results are 100 very organic sounds to spruce up your beats with. Or if you want to have a go at a Matthew Herbert style track, look no further.

If you make something with those Live Packs, then why not post a link to your track in the comments? I’d love to hear the results.

Yep these guys are creative . Detunized is one of my favorite Ableton ‘s instruments creator. Always with nice ideas, and well made racks. I’ve discovered him few years .
Madeleine,
Thank you very much for all the free packs. They’re Amazing! I really enjoy your blogs and Sonic Bloom. It’s an invaluable resource for me.
