The latest update for Ableton Live was quietly released and it brings a host of improvements for Ableton Push. Things like Scales Layout settings being stored within a Live Set, but lots of small, but incredible workflow changes. It is now possible
With the release of Live 9.5 we also heard about Link. The new and ingenious way of syncing Ableton Live instances on different computers as well as apps supporting the technology when running on the same wi-fi network. Even without Live running.
While I was at the beach here in Mauritius, Live 9.5 dropped - a free update for all users. There are plenty of articles on all the new features in Live 9.5, so I won't rehash them here. Instead I want to focus on Push. The new and the old, because there's plenty of news on this alone.
Last night screenshots from Ableton Live 9.5 made the rounds and according to Joshua Casper's sources they're actually true. For those of you interested in OSCiLLOT that weren't quite sure if it is the right thing, I've got good news. Max for Cats have just released a free Lite version of it. As the name suggests, it doesn't come with as many features as the full version, but it's still a lot of fun to use. It's also a great tool to get into synthesis and learning how to patch a modular synth without needing the extra space.
For all users of CatStretch we have great news. Version 2 with lots of new features is out now and it's free for everyone who had purchased version 1. And if you bought the Stochastic Delay and happen to own a copy of OSCiLLOT, you will be happy to hear that a module for Max for Cats' modular system of the effect awaits you in Your Account (don't forget to log in first).
It's been just a little over a month since the release of the Max for Live MIDI-Effects Arp One and Chord Memorizer by Max for Cats. For all of you who purchased one or both of them, there's now an update available in your account.
Ableton Live 9.1 is now finally out bringing with it the long awaited dual monitor support, a melodic step sequencer for Push and lots more. Here are the feature improvements in Live and changes for Push listed. Lots of bug fixes were made as well.
