Free Ableton Live Pack – Clap Happy (No. 1)

It’s Christmas Eve and I have a present for you already today in accordance with German tradition. ‘Clap Happy’, a free Live Pack with sampled real and drum machine claps featuring group claps (Ableton developers & me), single claps (me), Musicaid Clap Trap, Simmons Clap Trap and Boss Dr. Pad Claps. 8 Drum Racks containing over 300 sounds, all carefully recorded and sampled by me.

If clicking it to download results in a text-file, simply right-click and choose ‘Save Link as…’. To install, just double-click the alp-file and choose the installation path when prompted by Live. And here’s a tutorial on how to use the presets from Live Packs that are not self-installing.

Merry Christmas! Enjoy,
Madeleine

The Story Behind The Ableton Developer Claps

About a year ago I was asked by the Ableton developers to show and talk about my performance live set and how I worked with Live in the studio. I happily obliged, but asked them to do me one favour in return. To clap for me. I was working on a song that needed group claps and layered single claps don’t quite sounded right. So after my talk they did. This was an unparalleled happening for them and it was good fun once they dared to. 🙂

P.S.: If you use any of the claps in a song or track, please post a link. I’d love to hear it.
P.P.S.: You can hover over the Drum Rack titles to see some info text in the bottom left of Live displayed.

  1. My brother suggested I might like this website. He was totally right.

This put up actually made my day. You can not believe simply how much
time I had spent for this info! Thanks!

  2. Hello i am trying to get the pack but I have to make an account with the website but it won’t register me, can you send the download link for the claps to newen123@gmail.com?? Thanks.

    1. When you install the Live Pack, Live should ask you where you want to install it. A dedicated folder might be good, because you could then add it in the Browser via ‘Add Folder’. The Clap Happy Drum Racks should also be accessible via Drums.

  3. Are the Drum Racks usable in Live 9? I installed the pack, added the folder to the sidebar and can see folders (?) like “1-Single Claps”. But no content.

Anyway, thanks for the offer. I’ll use the raw samples for now. 🙂

    1. Yes, they work in Live 9. What you think are folders, are in fact tracks with the Drum Racks on them, but no clips. Simply add them to your Live Set. I’ve only made full drum kits, not single hits because they can be quickly added from the Samples folder of the Live Pack.

      1. Ah, OK, I tried to drag & drop them, which does not work. But a double click does.

        Thanks for the fast reply.
